Who We Are
Offering Dental Care in Darwin
Parap Family Dental was formed in 2003 by three dedicated health professionals.
All of us wanted to work in a dental practice that was able to look after our patients in an individualised and caring manner, in a purpose-built dental practice offering modern, science based and holistic dentistry using the most up-to-date technology, scientific research and dental treatments available.
In 2003, after working in partnership with established NT dental surgeons—Dr Chris Mansfield and Dr Kerry Eupene between 1997 and 2002—Dr Rees moved his practice from Smith Street to Parap Village and established Parap Family Dental.
In 2013, Parap Family Dental team Michael, Nicki and Belynda worked together on designing, building and equipping a brand new dental surgery in Goyder Road—just around the corner where we started our journey together.
Dedicated to Dental Health
The team at Parap Family Dental—Nicki (reception and practice manager), Belynda (dental nurse and surgical assistant) and Michael (our dentist) have been working together for more than 20 years. They bring a high level of consistency, expertise and good old-fashioned service to looking after teeth and mouths in a professional and caring manner, tailored to the individual needs of our patients.
Dr Michael Rees first came to Darwin in 1996—relocating from Central West NSW in 1997—and has been here since then.
Nicki and her family first came to Darwin in 1987. Nicki returned to the NT in 1999, after several years' working for an international Scientific Publishing company. Nicki heads up the management team at Parap Family Dental and is who you will almost always speak to when arranging appointments with us.
Belynda is our dental nurse and surgical assistant. Belynda has always lived in the Territory. Belynda completed her training in 2003 through TAFE SA. She has since worked in many dental settings, including extensively in remote community clinics. Belynda is expert at keeping patients comfortable and calm during their dental visit.
